Based on the challenges we are all currently facing, our concept for this collection has been inspired by the mythical Fifth Province which provided a safe space for dialogue in Ancient Ireland. In the centre of Ireland lies the Hill of Uisneach, recognized as a point of reconciliation; representing Warriorship, Dignity, Stability, Integrity and Principles. All of the attributes needed in the world always and especially at this time in history.
‘9th Archipelago’ therefore, is symbolic. A place that enables us to create despite the restraints in relation to the virus and all the political and scientific confusion surrounding it.
From an idea born in response to the pandemic.
In support of authors we know and admire.
As a community effort to bring fresh, new writing to 2021, Labello Press is excited to announce our latest publication project and first Invitational Anthology ‘9th Archipelago’, a stunning collection of Short Fiction and Poetry from:
Paul Burns/UK, Stefania Ferregutti/Switzerland, Martin Guppy/UK, Will Haynes/Spain, Deborah McMenamy/Ireland, Frederick Oscarsson/Sweden, Kathleen Reed/US, Wendy Staples/UK and Laurence Tournier/France.
